We were never able  to complete this video and our blog came to a halt because of a terrifying event that took place.

On the 5^th of December 2010 at 2am in the morning we were woken up by a loud bang and the sound of our back door being kicked in. OD got out of bed went into the corridor. 2 seconds later he was back in the bedroom and slammed the bedroom door shut and locked it They are four men with an AK; pistol and machetes in the corridor he said.

O'd Pixley's Forest Blog Video# 20 - INAUGURATION OF OUR MILL

Mr Maforga was in relaxed mode this time when he came to officiate at the inauguration ceremony of the grinding mill.

Gone was the cap and on was the bere; Mrs Mafroga played her part and afterwards at the shop they drank several Knockouts – a very potent Mozambican drink. The Knockouts affected both of them in different ways; Mrs Maforga became infected with the dancing bug and danced on and on in her green shoes.

Mr Moforga began sweating copiously and his knees gave in!

 Needless to say everyone had a jolly old time

Video # 19-:Geoffrey Leaves Home And Goes Into The Wild

As Geoffrey is nocturnal we let him go in the evening.

This was because he is a predator of the night and would be fully alert. He was more than ready to go and as we set him free at the beginning of the breeding season no doubt Geoffrey was off to find a little girlfriend!

We didn’t think he would have much trouble in the forest because he was a very fast and a fierce little cat.

 By the way these cats can never be tamed so don’t even try

If you have peanut allergies don’t try this dish. It is absolutely delicious and its often made with coconut as well as the peanuts.

Video#17-: Geoffrey at 3 months

O’D made sure that Geoffrey had a lot to occupy himself with during his stay in our cottage. They was a tree to climb; a tire to hide inside; a plank to walk up to the top of the door ledge as well as OD and i often came and played with Geoffrey. He loved wrestling with O’D and terrorising me. He was a real attack cat especially at night.

His hearing was amazing and the way he locked his back legs together to hang on to things was incredible.

Video#16-: Inauguration Of Our Shop

Mr Maforga looked just like an old style – African Dictator when he came to open our shop. He behaved like one too; threatening the people with big dogs and various punishments if they behaved badly for example like stealing from the shop.

WE had originally invited 45 people to the opening  so we were taken aback when more than 350 people arrived to eat and to drink; it was like Jesus feeding the five thousand without Jesus but somehow we managed; everyone ended up having a little of goat stew; bread and a whole lot of maheu

Video#15-: Images of How We Live

Although it’s now 2010 nothing much has changed in the Nhamacoa; we still live with paraffin lamps; charcoal iron and they is a problem with the generator; Emelia still has to go down by the river to wash our clothes.

We do have cell phones now but the people living around us have a problem with charging their phones because they have no power. We all need another source of power which will change our lives completely; where is the solar??Where is the wind power?? This is the reason the forests are being cut down because they have got no other source of fuel to cook their food.

Perhaps when you see this video you will compare how you live to the way we are living.
